PS: Did I mention there use to be dragons and their riders in this tale?
That just means they are the good guys and should be brought back as an honor guard for our hero in hiding.
O yeah, rosemary and thyme wabbit stewed over a simmering fire from seasoned logs, gives it a distinct smoky flavour. Yum!
dragonrider - I debated long about this issue, and others like the science and biology of, does he shit? or pee? especially after eating. And decided to tackle this straight on, rather than leaving it in question. For now, yes, he succumbs to these nature calls, but perhaps in different frequencies compared to a normal human, nor will it be graphically detailed in any future panels.
His condition would seem to affect only his skin and rather than simply dismissing it to a temporary suspension of disbelief, I attribute his 'skin condition' largely to be magical in nature.
How he 'came to be' will not be addressed in the immediate future, but perpetrators might be hinted at and the actual origin events will only be documented in a planned prequel.
O yeah, stay tuned, we're in for a looooong ride...

Your shadow work and lighting/coloring blend continues to teach me things. I'm sincerely impressed.
