Brix's Bane Page 1

Before the actual Xeric funded publication of Grey Legacy we were doing the series as minicomics. In 1991, based on the strength of the mini's, we were asked to contribute a story to a comics anthology called Wavemakers. It was meant to be a showcase for new and upcoming talent. We wanted to do something Grey Legacy connected, but not any of what we thought of as the “main” story line. Brix was a poorly developed background character, but for some reason she came to mind for this project. This story is what we came up with, and as a result is the first GL story to see print in an actual comic book format.
We even got paid for this one.

I like the cluttered lived in background. Nice to get paid once in awhile!

More needless info... We planned on never seeing Brix's dad in person. He was always going to appear on a viewscreen because he was just too busy to ever spend time with his daughter. We had a much later scene planned that was a dinner with him, Brix and Greylock and he was going to arrive at the restaurant as a viewscreen wheeled in by the staff.
