As you say I used the red to put emphasis on the tremendous violence that is taking place.
White sounds interesting, I will look for an opportunity to try that in future.
I used an orange back ground during the bow fire earlier and various other colours are coming up, because the look of one-colour-background really appeals to me. (is there a technical name for this type of thing?)
That dude is badass! Here's a bit of advice though, the big guy is evil and he's kicking tail so red seems pretty appropriate. However, from what I have learned, if you use a white background for these occasions, you can add more debris in the air and outline the characters in black to show how much damage has been done.
For dramatic purposes, it wouldn't do to start a story out with the good guys winning.
This is my favourite picture so far (though I might change that after I post the next one).
Also it is the first time we get a good look at the Darsai's weird cat legs, where they sort of stand on tip toes.

Oh crap, and the tide turns for the good guys. Nice panel work... good lead in with the little panel. Love the color, btw, much more vivid.
