Bally and Lacey go music shopping Part 2

In case anybody is wondering about the vintage card machine some stores did in fact still have them in 1996. They were outdated at the time and were being phased out in favour of more modern card readers.
This week's chapter was a difficult task, it's snowed in where I am and i've been having trouble getting done due to the fact my Baby sister has been either coming home from school early or missing it completely due to how bad the snow is. My second job took a lot longer to do because of the weather and I was concerned I wasn't going to get done on time. We have about 23 Panels (4 more than the comics 19 panel minimum) As it stands I'll take it as a win that i'm up on time.
The move from Thursday to Friday happened as a result of the christmas break but with the weather being as bad as it is and some personal issues i've been having we'll be going up on Friday until my schedule changes.
On a lighter note Thirley Peak will be returning at some point it's back in production and i've been making new panels for it.
I've made a new discord server for my comics all readers are welcome, It's my first server so any suggestions you have are welcome ^^

Thank you all for being patient I hope you all stay safe and well!
I need to go lie down this week's been exhausting…

They were lovingly known as knuckle-busters because you could and often did skin a knuckle using them. They were unpredictable especially ones we used in the gas station, since it was often outside. At Macy's they were replaced in the early 1990s by a stamper that was a lot easier on the hands. You've basically hit the era where I started in retail. You should go into the five sheet credit receipt where NOONE ever kept more than two. 🤣 And carbon paper was everywhere and you'd wonder how your fingers got blue.

I love this comment! Larger retail chains for the most part had them replaced by the early 90s but not every store was up to date. Random shops still had them, they certainly did in the UK. I have a very vague recollection of them, I saw it as a very small child, I had my Mum tell me her experience with them before I posted the page. Didn't know they were called Knuckle Dusters thanks for telling me xD.

The other day the waitress at a restaurant was using a hand held digital card reader that sort of resembles the old analog paper ones. We have come full circle.

Whoo hoo for the return of Thirley Peak! $9.99 was a deal for a CD back in 1999.

It really was. It's a quality cd too!

Come to think of it, those old credit card imprinters did look like torture machines.

Lacey has a point. To me it always looked like something you would put your finger in and it would wreck your finger...
