Wow. How late is this??? The comic is running way behind schedule but I still reckon this will be wrapped up before Christmas.
The problem was that although I have known Spudsy for over 15 years now, and we are both familiar with each others art styles, we actually have COMPLETELY different ways of drawing. So to cut a long story short…I was struggling big time to colour his work.
I got as far as the first three panels on this page but could not complete that final panel. Enter FITZ!! He is going to be doing the colours for Abt_Nihil on Heroes Unite 2 and so he kindly stepped in to finish the colour work for Spudsy.
As such the credits for this page are as follows: Art: Spudsy Colours - Panels 1-3: Nepath Colours - Panel 4: Fitz
Sorry for the delay but hopefully now with Fitz on board the wait to Page 14 shouldn't be far away. AND IF YOU DON'T READ IT ALREADY (which is unlikely) GO CHECK OUT A BIT CHEESY!!
EDIT: Hi guys, the reason we are going a little on the slow side is because, fitz has been kind enough to take over the colouring dutys, and unfortunately has been a little poorly as of late. but rest assured it will be with us soon.
ps
we love you all (apart from iron hand) and thank you very much for bearing with us. you support is very much appreciated.
You know, there should be a book on comic book sound effects...I never know which one to choose! I mean, how does one decide what written sound will work best for the action scenes being used? (There really should be some sort of handbook.) ;)
The transition from Nepath's to Fitz's colors is right on, it looks like one major outburst of flames... I really dig both of your coloring styles. The art had me a little confused too - and like literacysuks1 said, zooming out isn't the worst of things. But the action scenes in Batman Begins had that same flaw IMHO, so it can't be that bad. Other than that, great work, especially in panel 1...
ITS HERE WOOOOOO!!!!
I wanna say think you to every one for not ging anywhere while we were trying to sort the colouring issue out.
I also want to say thank you to Nepath + Fitz who did a superb job on te colouring.
Literacysucks = Yeah dude you are right, i realised the work wasnt going to work to well on the last page but i had already drawn the next couple so it was to late to change. i will try to sort it out.
IronHand = its dante getting the hump while standing up. lol.
but i get were your coming from. i do have a tendancy to make every panel a bit over the top. sorry. it will be sorted after the next page.
Oh and FITZ that last panel is the nutz dude (very good) ;)
Haha my own style is as far from Spudsy's as possible, too: if you've seen my comic, you know I'll soft shade even single pixel. But enter the mighty Cutout filter - and the day is saved ;) Thanks, Nepath, I'm honored to have been offered the job. I love this comic and I'm a fan of the superheroes, so it's my pleasure to have my part in it. And I'll give my best to bring you the next page ASAP.
Who is that on the floor in panel 4? I couldn't make it out at all. It's either Tazer, Energize or Hellfire, but I can't tell, I think it's Energize but can't make it out.
Apart from that, Good page, by the way!
Spudsy, I like your pages. But to help with the storytelling I'd suggest zooming out every once and awhile. When every shot is a super cool zoom in it gets a lot harder to tell what the heck is going on. I mean I KNOW what's going on, but it takes a few extra seconds to grasp things. But like I said, I still like the art.
Good Golly Miss Molly! Better call in more heroes. The only way to beat this joker is with more muscle, he doesn't seem to absorb more than one hero's powers at a time. Keep up the great work you five, this comic is awesome!
