Lex the Fairy

The explanation of Lex's charm from the original novel:

“When Lex and I first became friends, she had a nasty habit of dropping in, specifically, materializing at any time. It took some time–fairies have no concept of privacy–to explain why this was a problem. Eventually we devised a solution. She gave me a small charm, fashioned into a pin, which allowed her to magically buzz me. A fairy beeper, if you will. Now, whenever she wants to visit, she signals via the charm and if I respond with ‘Sh’Tah,' she materializes.”

Fairies also don't have much of a concept of time. Lex hasn't contacted Regan in eight months, which doesn't seem like much time at all to her.

As always, thanks for visiting, P.K.
