The only problem is, there's no evidence given on either side. Both are then rejected by the scholarly. Something I'm at fault for too because there's never enough evidence to prove either side and, after all, there's not a lot of room on a comic book page for proving everything.
The theory I've heard is that this was two or three different people named John. There was one letter by Paul proven to be patched together by other writings of Paul, but was rejected once proven false (this is not contained in today's Bible). As for whether or not his writings were edited or changed, I know of no proof to support it. Maybe you should write a few pages without artwork as a companion piece to be placed at the end of the comic to help support your claims? I'd like to read that.
