The constitution itself mentions God and that "All men are created equal." However I agree with you in that I too believe that the founding fathers did not conceive America to be a country that is hostile toward other religions or non-religions. It is based on Christian beliefs only in that it is agreed that stealing and killing, etc, found in the Old Testament's 10 commandments are very good laws for our country. Some of the founding fathers were Christian, although not fundamentalists. But this did not and should not take away from the freedom our country supposedly offers by placing restrictions on religion. This country is free for all - not a Christian nation, but not a purely atheist nation either. It is a free nation, and free means for all not just for some.
There is a spiritual battle going on. I don't know what Pat is talking about specifically and I hate to ever defend the man, but the Bible itself claims that the real fight isn't with flesh and blood but with the supernatural, if I understand correctly. If Pat is referring to flesh and blood war (as he most likely is), he's definitely wrong.
