Day 14

This one was fun to draw.
So, basically you read this as 90 pounds, 4 sets of 6. I'm starting out light and building up slowly. Like I mentioned in this comic I'm interested in toneing not building.
I'm also not doing any lower body lifting, at least not yet. Most of my muscle mass is in my legs and I don't really need anymore. I was lifting 400+ pounds with them in college, and I'd probably still be comfortable doing the mid to high 200s. Besides they LOVE to get muscle cramps. Jogging and doing leg weights just isn't a good idea for me.

I'm sorry to say that it's nigh-impossible to simulataneously lose fat and gain muscle. What resistance exercise does is help tone your muscle and keep you from losing the muscle you DO have as your weight drops.

Well, me and my chub are closer than ever, I still love this comic. It's so witty.

That's smart... the last thing you need is to hurt yourself and derail your progress.

It's only my first day back to lifting, I'm starting out small because I'm not sure what my muscles are still capable of

I'd up your reps, but keep the weight low. High rep at low weight helps to tone. Adding some muscle mass will also burn calories.
