For those not in the know. The girl is May from Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald. The sprite is based off of Amy Rose's sprite from Sonic Advance. You'll soon see that May's hardly helpless in this comic.

After all, she was sort of the mascot of the forum that I had this comic on.
