Commander Wes Norwood USN is not Han Solo. He doesn't go charging down corridors guns blazing. And he follows orders. The captain says don't go there and he won't. Calloway just wants to get out of there and Norwood isn't about to question her judgement.
@Jerrie: they didn't listen to me either. I recommended giving the whole crew ground combat training, shipping an entire SEAL team or Marine Force Recon compliment as opposed to just Norwood and carrying heavier weapons than just issue sidearms. One can't escape and evade on a space ship in interstellar space and remain in control of its systems. But they didn't listen to me. (As if Soviet Spetznaz and RPGs worked against robofemoids. ;-)

If it moves...I'm shooting!shadow or no shadow!

Hell, I'd be shooting at shadows. And I'd shoot 'em again, just to make sure they're dead.
plymayer at 4:39AM, June 5, 2013
Okay. That sounds reasonable.

I like those angles down the corridor. Great, creepy dialogue (with a nice, squishy font) from the monsters, too!
bravo1102 at 3:30AM, June 5, 2013
That's why there aren't any 50 caliber rifles on board. :D

If they can traverse interstellar space they have projectile technology (alloys we can only dream of?) that won't penetrate a pressure hull. Like squash head hollow points that don't penetrate pressure hulls but do holy hell to soft tissue. Or foam filled triple walled composite bulkheads and walls that armor piercing rounds can't penetrate.
plymayer at 2:33AM, June 5, 2013
Shooting weapons with projectiles in a pressurized space ship just doesn't seem like a smart idea. If they puncture the hull, the atmosphere will escape.
