When I started JOAT I wanted to hide some references in backgrounds and character bits, so in this strip, I added that Investigate 3/11 poster. Pretty fun.

Also, this takes place in 2016? 2015? Right around there. When medical weed was the only “legal” way to get it, and even then you could easily be busted for having anything on you at any time. Hence the weed poster - under that is - I believe - her medical recommendation. Little details definitely not based in reality…

The color palette for this apartment becomes the standard thematically recurring color for “warmth” and “coziness.” Keep an eye out!
