Anyone ever have to take a drug test for a job?

I once applied for a job at Safeway (grocery store), and they made me come in and suck a sponge-on-a-stick for a few minutes to prove I wasn't a DRUG DOER. They tested that sponge, somehow? None of the people in my group had their sponges come back positive for illicit substances (cannabis), but when I stepped outside with the group, two girls both mentioned that they had smoked recently, with one girl saying she literally smoked a few hours before the interview.

So, I don't know how accurate these sponge tests are, but that's what Tasha had to go through, too.

Critically, I like the way this page reads, with the details in the background slowly (calmly) revealing the location, point, and reason for this moment. Remember that this story jumps from moment to moment without giving many details about the now. I'm happy when I feel like it works.
