Finally made it back, with an updated computer.
At this point, the working files, both 3D and 2D for all my comics, as well as dozens of 3D renders for other comics series I've been brainstorming/planning - all that stuff is gone.
Maybe. With advice and help from Ozoneocean, the stuff may be recoverable. I haven't tackled that yet - and either way, life - and the comic - will go on!
So glad I was able to get those sharp dialogue chops back, eh?
Special thanks to dinofeather!
And thanks to all Patrons over on Patreon!

Thanks jerrie! I know you’ve had your share of computer problems and then some!

Oh my, that must suck. I remember my old computer giving up its ghost while I was in the middle of some quite important work. Then I managed to recover the file to find it all scrambled and the deadline just a few hours away... Good luck getting it all back, I'll keep my fingers crossed!

Thank you! I'll have to get to those efforts when I can. Meantime, it's great to just be able to continue forward!

I am infuriated by your data loss, in this era of cloud storage and cheap USB drives, infuriated I tell you. Let this be a lesson to us all. *plugs in USB drive and runs xcopy batch file* Good luck with getting your sh!t back.

Absolutely - I could have stored this stuff in some backup places. Definitely a lesson learned!

A very touching page! Ozone pointed me in the direction of a program that was able to resurrect almost all of my files, after my local repair shop scanned for two days and claimed there was nothing left on there. I think it was something like EaseUs data recovery - best check with the man himself!

Yeah, Oz has helped direct me and I'll have to give it a try - I'm in the same position with a repair shop that was unable to recover the stuff. But I have the old drive and the directions from Oz on what to try next. Fingers crossed! And thanks!

I'm no expert on the topic, but they've come a long way in file recovery. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you. I've been lax in backing up my files lately. This has reminded me how important that is.

Thanks! Yeah, I do have an external hard drive but when the collapse happened, I checked and hadn't updated that for two years. So the majority of stuff I'd made isn't there. There are still possibilities of recovery, though.

Yeah, would be nice to actually hold her hand as opposed to sitting in her palm.
Banes at 11:12AM, May 3, 2024
That would probably be nice for them, yeah!
