Page 14: issue 4 - A Saucerful of Secrets

I had originally wanted this revelation at the beginning of the issue, with the events of the issue leading to Julie finally deciding to talk to her mom about it, rather than always ducking her. But then I realized that having her talk to her mom on the phone on the second page of each of her first two issues would be a little repetitive. Besides, this works as a fun cliffhanger, though I think anyone could realize why her mom knows, despite Julie not telling her about it.

I do have ideas as to what the talk would be like. That may happen in another issue, though likely as flashback. After all, I don't plan on returning to Eiderdown until September, and since I do want there to be passage of time between issues that don't continue the same exact story (like 1 and 2 do), it would make sense that such a conversation already happened.

It's also fun to show Red Mind's predictions coming true. Like I said, he's a fun character. If I hadn't put this at the end, he might not have ended up with precognition (heck, I came up with the look and powers on the fly–I didn't originally envision him even having any speaking lines, and as it is, it leaves the awesome Jenny Everywhere as the voiceless in the issue).

Next month: A focus on two new characters in a familiar universe for many on Drunk Duck. Plus, a bonus issue, running concurrently, focusing on a previously-seen character.
