Page 7: issues 5 (On the Run) and Special 1 (Sysyphus Part 1)

Top page: So ends Sparkle's backstory. The video message is one I thought of late, but I think it provides interesting resonance to everything. I feel sorry for Sparkle's mom, because she legitimately doesn't understand why Sparkle was unhappy at home. I will maintain that neither parent was necessarily bad. They just had erroneous assumptions to work off of. As such, I have backtracked on one thing I was going to have initially: I don't think Sparkle will have cut ties from her family completely. Certainly, I owe it to her mother to let Sparkle keep in contact. Also, I realize that having Sparkle come from Missouri means that my lack of giving her a Southern accent is more apparent now. However, I am not well-versed enough in said dialect, and I already give Sparkle a different way of speaking, so what would come out if I tried for an accent would be unintelligable. Just imagine her talking in a Missouri accent.

Bottom page: I admit I cheated, and I hope KAM doesn't mind. But the fact is that I've been putting myself down to the wire on these pages, and after the Sparkle and Astral stuff I need to find a way to get through them quickly. It's what comes from not building up a buffer on my days off like I should. In fact, as of writing this commentary, I still need to ink issue 5's page 8 and draw the special issue's page 8 at all. Considering the latter will be using characters that are not my own, I will need to keep checking references, so I have fears that this may delay the page. But I'll try to get a decent amount drawn over the weekend, to counteract this (I have a four-day weekend every week, so it's doable). Just don't expect me to color the Queue. I have no idea what their color scheme is and it'll help me get the page done faster.

Tomorrow (hopefully): Astral attempts to cheer Sparkle up and Tempore interacts with the Queue
