Pages 19-20: issue 6 - The Trial

I'm putting together a crossover project for next year, which will run through multiple comics and benefit the Hero Initiative. If you're interested in participating, please e-mail me at karamesser@hotmail.com or PQ me on this site.

I liked Ammon Man, but sometimes a character has to die. His legacy has a chance to live on, but he is gone. And since I kept drawing him worse and worse, I guess people might have been able to see this outcome coming.

Meanwhile, Sparkle is ignorant of everything. Remember I said everyone would play a part in this? Hers was as the distraction–and she didn't even know what was going on. She just happened to distract the villain's attention at just the right time.

And we see Locomotive being a bit awesome here–not falling into the same trap and generally busting in to hopefully save the day (and making me fight to not make a Kool-Aid Man reference during her entrance). We also see the villain in full for the first time, and the fact that the Herculean didn't even save him completely in time. I realized early that I wanted him deformed, and was thinking of making him charred, since I was originally going to show his family dangling over lava, not acid. But I'm bad at drawing such things and his visual aesthetic wouldn't have been right.

Tomorrow: Can Locomotive get them out?
