I figured Sparkle would actually be a very kind superhero. It just came organically from her personality. She doesn't like to hurt anyone, really.

I named the guy Bloodblast because I wanted a very ‘90s name for him. And now he’s revealed as the convict that they encountered back in issue 5. That's a good amount of time in between appearances.
