omegasonics right enough, as the mega drive, snes and gba were all 16 bit (although the gba gets a bit hazy as it could support 16-bit RGB colour or 32-bit bitmap colour...)

Technically, the only 32-bit sprite there is Martin's own. Advance and Genesis are both 16-bit, just different styles.

As a great spriter once said, it should be okay to bit mix 16-bit and 32-bit just not 8-bit
