Yes, that line is almost directly from All-Star Batman and Robin (I cut out some words to keep it from dragging).
What was Frank Miller thinking. I'm sorry, but Batman may be a lot of things but he's not an asshat. There's a difference between being dark and brooding to being a guy who calls a kid he just kidnapped a “retard”.
This strip is just to finally get on with the story arc. I've been running around in circles trying to get the whole “need another roommate” thing in.
Also I've noticed a new comment to strip #11 about Jeph Loeb's son dying on cancer.
Wanna know something shocking? I already knew that before I drew the strip.
My answer is: So?
How is this at all relevant? My dad died when I was 10. Does that mean nobody can criticize or poke fun at me? His son dying does not give his WORK a free pass. I'm sorry for his loss, but he still has a creepy fixation on a character he himself says is based on his daughter.
What bugs me about comments like that is that it didn't comment on the actual comic, or anything else. It's just a statement of fact that's not relevant to the comic.
Anyways, next week will be actual progress in the arc, though I really like dressing Dom up in things.

oh god, i knew i'd read that before. miller's been nuts for years, so it's DC's own fault for letting him do that shit. notice how all star superman is still hugely hyped (even though it's been pretty.... .eh..) and they'd rather not even mention all star batman. i really liked the one allll about black canary's ass. good work, frank..
