Death comes for everything that lives.. Including people that don't believe in the afterlife.. Steve assumes the afterlife's what comes next because he hangs out in a mythical land with all the other mystical stuff that doesn't quite fit in the physical world... It's essentially the same as asking if animals go to an afterlife? No matter which answer is given, the question still remains "How do you know?"
