Cpixie: In Steve's case, it's because of his heratige. In other cases, it's because they are tall, or the artist doesn't want to draw bulky legs. My legs, for example, have thick enough thighs that each takes up the same area as both of Steve's thighs, and possibly the rest of one of his legs as well (if not both of them).

Gaijin, considering the first clause runs into the second, I think it is reasonable to cancel the negatives. Here's another way to parse it: Second clause: "...that's not intended for anything but a Valkyrie" = "...that's intended only for a Valkyrie." First clause: "I don't have any armour..." = "I don't have any armour..." Combined: "I don't have any armour that's only intended for a Valkyrie." Now, if we did treat them as seperate, the first clause would simply be "I don't have any armour" which is patently untrue - Steve's wearing it! ;) To be accurate, she'd delete the "not" - "I don't have any armour that's intended for anything but a Valkyrie" or she'd specify in the first clause who she doesn't have armour for: "I don't have any armour for men - that's not intended for anything but a Valkyrie". Either would mean what she wants to, but note that the first is saying what she wants to and lacks the "not" - inserting that "not" with no other changes reverses the meaning. 'Course, Sally probably isn't the type to think about careful grammatical sentence construction when she's on the defensive. :P

A few things: 1. Steve's cloak is a legendary armour formed from his shadow. Thus it should be at least even to what Sally just put him in. 2. I wonder if Steve is wearing anything under that. And if he isn't, then he probably chafes a bit. 3. How much did Sally get to see as she got Steve changed into that? 4. Does Sally know how to make armour out of her own shadow too?

Stardrake, the two negatives are in separate clauses, and so don't actually cancel each other out. "I have armor that's not intended for anyone but a Valkyrie." "I do not have any armor that's not intended..." Relative pronoun clause. It's not the best-worded sentence on the planet, but it's technically okay.

Errrk, multiple negatives. Gramatically, cancel out the "don't" with the "not" and she's saying she has any armour that's intended for anything but a valkyrie - in other words, that valkyrie armour is the ONLY armour she doesn't have. :P
