Really late comment, but in French, "blond" is the masculine form and "blonde" is the feminine form. I'm not sure about other varieties of English, but in American English, the masculine form can be used for anything, but the feminine is often used to refer to a female with blond hair.

Oh, and I am liking this comic a lot. The inversion of black and white is a very strong device, and well employed here.
