yeah, wholesomely agree, Secret of NIMH is by far my favorite Don Bluth film and also one of my favorite animated films. like Metal Breakdown said, his animation is amazing throughout all his films, but I think most of them lack pacing unfortunately. But Secret of NIMH is an exception for me! I think maybe alot of his films unfortunately were trying to compete with Disney films at the time, so he tries to fit the musical genre in there, or whatever may be popular at the time (like the comedic element as Ushio said), and stops the film from coming into its own. The secret of NIMH didnt have any competition at the time though, I think it was made during that disney slump in the early 80s, so maybe thats why its more slow paced/no musical elements/serious story/interesting characters ;)
And Kristin thats pretty interesting! 0_0 wow I guess he was based on real events too, only wished theyd fleshed him out more maybe ^^; haha my new comic is based on an old one I did when I was like 15, Illusional Beauty, I like the general concept (a town where music is banned) so Im keeping that and then rewriting/improving the story =3
