hmmm... lemniskate i never thought about it like that. i had always just made the correlation to kissing the way kaycee did and thus thought about the boundary crossing bit. but thinking about it like that i (for some weird reason) find that i wouldn't mind too much, the novelty of it would override the initial association, which would allow me to think about it from the start as simply one method of breathing underwater. out of water though it would bug me, heck if i had to give cpr to a guy i would definitely need to be caught up in the moment, even then there would probably would be some hesitation. overall it has led to some deep thought for a simple comment, maybe i am some sort of deep in the closet homosexual, though if it was meant to be sexual i bet i would be against it, i guess if i am ever drowning and need some one to ferry air to me i might find out, but i find it unlikely, still an interesting thought. and for future thought of phernian physiology (if you ever get into it), octopus sometimes live deep enough in the water where there is no oxygen, so i doubt they need it to live, but i could be wrong i have never looked into it. also if they do live at the bottom of an ocean then they probably live too deep to get oxygen without magical assistance. i could probably come up with some fairly plausible ways they can get oxygen without magical means if you care.

I've never depicted male PherNians in the comic so this is speculative and non-canon. I like it though, but remain unconvinced that they would have beards underwater... although [url=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Posiedon]Posiedon[/url] (for example) did so I suppose it could work!

Fatima and her people are hybrids created using the magi-science of the Merr from Atlantis. I guess to some extent they have certain mystical elements to their being that help to smooth over such tricky scientific concerns...!

i wonder why kaycee has to breath out, doesn't fatima need as much inert gas as she can in order to pass on oxygen? also what about oxygen toxicity at deeper depths when giving mouth to mouth? what about oxygen saturation of the surrounding water, can she perceive the levels so as to know how long she can sustain a person? what about normal chlorinated pools, can she breath? how does she handle fresh water, like a bull shark or is it inverted like a salt water croc (processes out extra salt when in salt water)?
