Chapter 3: Daze
xmung on Dec. 9, 2010
Kicking off a new chapter today. Daze focuses mostly on Go!Anna as she goes about unravelling the mystery behind the stolen but now recovered artefact. We also get to meet (and re-meet) some of the other characters that intersect with her personal and crimefighting life. It's only a short one, 42 pages plus this cover, so will take us to the end of January 2011. The first page tomorrow goes some way towards explaining why Wombatman was in a wheel chair in chapters 1 and 2.

yeah, this is a good story arc, a lot happens with long term consequences in a short span of time. No spoilers!

@Al: thanks! @shastab24: it's certainly one of the up sides to doing a webcomic, one is never hemmed in by the need to write a 22 page story because that's all you get in a comic book. It does have it's flip side of course, the tendency not to be disciplined and reign things in. I think I'm guilty of this from time to time. There's some other webcomic I've been reading - it's only been around for about six months but I'm still to work out what it's actually about, random things happen for no apparent reason, the characters are about as engaging as a wet rag and even the action sequences are utterly underwhelming... but maybe if they used fewer words, fewer pages, fewer characters it might actually be decent. Anyway, thanks for the feedback - Bad Karma was an epic story and I'm looking forward to re-running it here!

Your "short" chapter length would take up about two standard comic books. And I know for sure that this chapter is not dragging, unlike many books from Marvel or DC which go nowhere (because they're writing for trades). As well, I also know Bad Karma never lets up and it is immense. It's a sign of a good writer that a long story can remain engaging from beginning to end.
