Y'know, my only exposure to a depiction of what a goanna looks like so far is from Fern Gully--and I only saw that is was supposed to be a goanna when I was reading about Big-Lipped Alligator Moments on TV Tropes. It's interesting what happens with geographical distance. Makes me want to make a character with the powers of a chuckwalla, though. I'm sure most people have no clue what that is. Of course, the animal with the best name already has a superhero based off of it: one of Pride High's reader-created characters is Humuhumunukunukua'pua'a. I go on tangents sometimes, if people didn't notice.

@Lemniskate: cookies of evil! @Call Me Tom: actually goannas can climb stuff too, using their claws... I've seen one going up a tree, they're quite large lizards so it was an interesting sight. @Al: sadly, he doesn't seem to get around much at all anymore...
