Chapter 3: Daze | 9
xmung on Dec. 18, 2010
Introducing Captain Victoria - also a Magellan graduate and member of the aforementioned Oz Magellan group based in Sydney, Australia (ie… where we are right now!) She and Go!Anna went through the Academy at the same time.
Anyway, her code name is just the result of a dumb in-joke with myself - Victoria is one of the states within Australia, so rather than naming her Captain Australia (probably already taken, several times) I thought it would be amusing to name her after one of the states instead - it would be like having a Captain California, or a Captain Saskatchewan… you get the drift! She's got the basic flying brick powers - flight, strength, invulnerability but is not in the same category as Epoch or even Charisma, still she's a fairly accomplished super hero even if she is wearing a swimming suit costume with a cape!
Due to several plaintive requests from people posting comments I have to politely ask others who are ahead of the game… no spoilers please! Thanks, and thanks for reading and commenting!

Y'know, A few of my characters have names that reflect their secret identities.

We recently had a discussion about this amongst the Crossoverkill cartoonists - given that Mindmistress is utterly unimpressed by the swimsuit costume worn by Dasien. It was posited that they made sense for invulnerable characters, less so for the more easily injured. Although given that logic, why don't Superman, Thor, et al wear mankinis? lol @al: hm, an interesting idea for a story!

Wonder Woman pioneered the Swimsuit Hero costume, and D&D made the rule, 'the less armor a woman has on, the more affective it is.' Sadly this argument did not work for "Pasties and a thong" Woman, who is now serving 5-7 years for indecant exposure.

Hey, don't knock swimmin' costumes! They've stood many a classic heroine in good stead for the last 60 years or so, so they must have something going for them!
