Chapter 4: Bad Karma | 23
xmung on Feb. 15, 2011
Wow, Brelvis sure has a big mouth! Go!Anna reveals her recollection of the moment that originally brought her and Kaycee together many years ago and which ultimately inspired Kaycee to aim for becoming a super-hero through Magellan Academy despite the fact she, as Brelvis puts it, “roesn't have any super powers”. This of course was a point of friction for Brelvis, when he was still Brian, way back at the start of Chapter 1.
Tomorrow, back to Faux Karma's machinations…
Thanks for reading and commenting. Be sure to check out Crossoverkill which features Hoodoo from Magellan and a heap of other awesome superheo webcomics… there was a new update yesterday as all kinds of mayhem erupt in Fusion's world…

Batman didn't have any powers, but he could kick any meta-human's hind-quarters all over the place. Sure, he's fictional, but still.

@xmung- Super Soldier Serum is DEBATEABLE. It puts the human body to peak human condition instantly. Using it makes one an olympic gymnest, weightlifter, marksman, marathon runner, and sprinter all at the same time. Nothing that a normal human can't train to be, but most can't obtain ALL of them at record-holding levels. However, just having a peak condition body isn't enough. Captain America's combat skills are a result of extream training over decades.

Doesn't Captain America have Super Soldier Serum? Or is that some other version and it's been retconned? But yeah, the extended bat family are all bad ass norms - even so they're the exception to the rule in DC (aren't they?)

Personally, I'm hoping Go!Anna takes it well. Kaycee could really use another supporter, especially this particular one. Having the woman who inspired her to do this in the first place backing her decision would give her all kinds of drive to succeed. Of course, that's probably exactly why it won't happen. Can't ever be simple in the Magellanverse.

@kriss1989: at this stage in the evolution of the Magellanverse, very uncommon. Although you do have people who are "superpowered" only though the use of technology (eg Ranger Bill). In the early days of the Magellanverse there were more non-powered heroes - although they died out pretty quickly!

Heh - well, if he's not part of the academy, I guess he's not bound by any confidentiality undertakings. Go!Brelvis!

For Kaycee, the day Go!Anna saved her life was the most important day of her life! For Go!Anna, it was just another day.

Quick question, just how common are non-powered heroes?
