Chapter 4: Bad Karma | 31

Ooops! Back when I first started working on Magellan this scene featured as a significant moment almost right from the very start. Several years later I finally got Kaycee and Annie together for that very moment. And no, it hasn't gone very well… for either of them really; it's certainly not Annie's finest moment. In her favour she was caught off-guard and in a bad frame of mind because of her break up with Wombat-Man - something that wasn't in the picture when I first conceived this scene all those years ago. Often my story just goes with the flow but when I interject “pre-destined” moments I have to blend the recent events in with the major plot point.
Tomorrow, Kaycee sure isn't happy!
Thanks for reading and commenting. Be sure to check out Crossoverkill which features Hoodoo from Magellan and a heap of other awesome superheo webcomics… there was a new update yesterday as Energize takes on a new member of the Doppelganger Gang.

...which is what the training at the Academy is all about, but also Annie is in a bad place - she just lost a good friend (brutally murdered right in front of her) and her lover was doing it with another colleague (of sorts). Annie comes from the school of tough love so she probably thinks she is doing Kaycee a favour!

i do have to say, anna does have a point, heroes do tend to have pretty gruesome deaths, and powerless heroes have to be extra careful. just think about how inept the bond villains were, not to mention some of the situations batman has been in. if you look at the stuff superman has been in you realize just how good a villain has to be in order to get superman down, it isn't like kryptobiology is a standard course that you can just buy a book about. some one had to figure out that the radiation was harmful, not just some issue with proximity to the rock, and that it was life threatening, and the distance and time it would take to cripple him. now since batman has in fact helped superman out shows that he just outclasses pretty much all the villains he faces, and that superman is only a little above average without his powers, so in the end the way most heroes go about things just won't work for kaycee, and she needs to realize that, and anna needs to realize that before she will accept that kaycee can be a hero. so really anna just lacks perspective.

And how do you know she isn't outdoing powered students? They wouldn't have accepted her if she wasn't good.
