Chapter 4: Bad Karma | 42

This moment between Tom and Freya is still one of my favorite Magellen scenes - intimate and quiet… just before all hell breaks loose! Tom is, of course, referencing events from the end of Chapter 3 where Go!Anna and Wombat-man's relationship fell apart. We last saw Tom and Freya in their quarters back in Chapter 1. In case you're wondering they're not married but are living together.
In other news, today marks Magellan's 7th anniversary - although Magellan's only been running for a few months here on Drunk Duck I uploaded page 1.01 to Comic Genesis on March 7, 2004… yay! You may also be interested to know that Magellan now has a theme song… please check it out (the link takes you to the current Magellan website, but is non-spoilery for those of you prefering to follow the updates here on Drunk Duck).
Tomorrow… let's just say: you don't wanna miss it!
Thanks for reading and commenting. Be sure to check out Crossoverkill which features Hoodoo from Magellan and a heap of other awesome superhero webcomics… there was a new update on Thursday as Fusion, X-Pletive and Mindmistress take on some high explosives and Chant of the Doppelganger Gang finds an unexpected bystander in the crowd.

Yeah, I've read ahead. makes this scene less enjoyable for me knowing what happens next. Also, congrats on year 7.

Ha, funny I've never thought of it as anything other than Ma-Jellan, seems that in Australia we side more with the US on that one. Could this be a tomato/tomato issue? It's not the only one... know that I pronounce Fatima fat-ima but others pronounce it fat-eema.

Congrats on Magellan's 7th! And we've always pronounced it "Ma-Jellan" here in the USA, which is the same way we pronounce the explorer's name. That's also the pronounciation at dictionary.com. [muh-jel-uhn] But of course, for all I know it might be geared just for American (and Australian?) pronounciations, not Brit ones.

@Lem: It's a "hard G" in Brit English too! If we stick together on this, I'm sure we Euro-types can persuade the rest of the world round to our way of thinking!

Nooo, "Magellan" always sounded in my head the way it's pronounced in German [magεl'a:n], and now I'm aware of it being [mədʒ'æłən]...

I sense that Tom says that last bit, in part because he means it, but also to assure Freya that he is not like Wombat-Man. It would make sense in that circumstance to want to assert to the other one's own monogamy. And it does start escalating from here. I know upcoming events make me happy to read quiet moments like this, because this chapter does not have much time for characters to express themselves like this.

Congrats on Magellan's 7th anniversary!
