Chapter 4: Bad Karma | 81
xmung on April 15, 2011
As it was pointed out in the comments yesterday, “this is going easy… too easy”. But still, Bill, Sioni, Montana-Rose and Kaycee are all working well as a team so fingers crossed that nothing goes snafu!
Have I mentioned that Montana-Rose was one of the very first characters I created for Magellan? Indeed she was! Originally it was all going to be a somewhat intimate affair… a bit like the original 1960s X-Men… a very, very small group of cadets with only one elderly teacher (actually Karma!! The real one, not the fake one). The other three were going to be Rochelle, Fabian (a flying cadet who is still in the current cast but hasn't said a single word in the series so far) and a very primitive version of Brelvis. That's right, no Kaycee, no Charisma, no Fatima, no Go!Anna, no Epoch, etc… those characters only came into the picture when I decided to expand the scope of the comic! Anyway, that's a bit of trivia that has pretty much nothing to do with today's update other than the fact it references Montana-Rose who is also in today's update. Rosie will get a chance to reverse her somewhat demoted status through the rest of this chapter.
Tomorrow… the view from the control room.
Thanks for reading and commenting. Be sure to check out Crossoverkill which features Hoodoo from Magellan and a heap of other awesome superhero webcomics…

Crawl space? One unaccounted for bug? Hmm. I going out on a limb to say that Kaycee's idle will have another opportunity to crush her spirit.

well not knowing where that one last bug could be trouble, but if bill, montana, and kaycee work together in an all out assault then they ought to be able to subdue the three in the lab and save the children, that leaves sioni against one potential bug with ten children to defend, a bit of a risk common to heavy handed tactics. the softer touch requires a lot of work when things go amiss since you have less resources in place for emergency purposes. always a give and take.
