Chapter 4: Bad Karma | 88

I feel a bit sorry for Montana-Rose here - she was the one everyone expected to screw up and now she's having to deal with a pear shaped situation not of her own making. We see her trying her best, but as a young witch with limited power and spellcasting ability it isn't enough to stoop the bug poop from hitting the fan!
Tomorrow… “gee, that went well, didn't it??”

I hadn't really thought when reading this before about how the plan might still have failed had Kaycee not given awa her position. Considering I would be devastated if I even led one kiddie-bot die (because that means in a real situation I would have allowed a kid to die), I would be one to consider it a failure if I even lost one, let alone all those kids already put into the ducts. But Sioni does cheat a little here--dead men actually can't warn their teammates about kid-bugs bursting into the room.

@jamoecw: yes, a bit of artistic license to delay the reporting of the 'killing' of the kidbots that Sioni had ferried up into the duct... so essentially that was a major screw up on their part too. The Robomat will report what is visible to the participants.

i always assumed that the report of all those kids killed by bug five while he is killing sioni was a delayed report, so as not to let on that they had messed up. montana rose really shows what she's got on this page, just goes to show how deadly she is, and why i thought she would do well in an assault role. heroes are visible in desperate times. hidden in times of tranquility.
