The beach makes for a really nice setting - I should really use it more often. Plus I quite like that backdrop of the buildings in panel 3 - kind of gives you the idea that they're not that far from the main complex.
When writing this story I continually had to come up with reasons for characters not to know about developments in other areas of the story until the time was right. So there was an alert sent out about hallucinations quite a few pages ago… but I wasn't ready for Kaycee to know about that until now, so I made her turn off her communication wristwatch even though that would technically be a very daft thing to do, although given her emotional state it would be sort of understandable.
Tomorrow… up, up and a… um, no that's some other comic.
Thanks for reading and commenting. Be sure to check out Crossoverkill which features Hoodoo from Magellan and a heap of other awesome superhero webcomics…

@jamoecw: the cadets would have to keep a fairly high standard of quality to their uniform presentation. That said, they only wear the "drill" uniform on "mission style and physical training exercises" (eg the obstacle course in chapter 2 and the more recent Robomat exercise) - we've seen that they dress casual in academic classes (such as demonology) and that they have a dress uniform for special events (eg the welcome ceremony) so the drill uniform occupies particular place within the cadet's dress code requirements.

it's believable.

hardest thing for me in boot camp was getting used to wearing boots. even today that is my least favorite part of the uniform. do the boots have to be kept shiny like in the u.s. military? Constant exposure to dangers will breed contempt for them.
