at this point you would want to bring out the big guns and try to put them on the defensive, in order to keep them from being able to concentrate forces on you, thus buying you time, which means either escape in order to try again, or a successful mission if you don't have other problems gumming up the works. Nobody is driven in to war by ignorance, and no one who thinks he will gain anything from it is deterred by fear.
