If Sharon was being groomed to take over as chief, I could see why he thought overpowering her would possibly help him take over. Still you’d think that he would have learned to respect women from a young age. Most likely the Chief let her son run wild using his position to bully others. Being too busy with chief duties until it was too late. It might have been worse if she exiled the lot of them. Since than there’d be no one to keep them in check.
