The earthworm dinner on page 3 looks clearer in print. Apologies.

This is one of the panels I would really have liked to colour, just to make it clearer. However, nearly all of my test readers advised me against it. It would have upped the printing costs quite a bit, and some of them told me they preferred the story in black and white so as to emphasize its dream-like qualities (this remark will become clearer when you see the rest of it). I didn't have the time anyway.
By way of compromise, I at least overruled the printer's suggestions by insisting on a strong, rough paper type, so any kid who feels like it can use coloured pencils on it as he/she pleases. I encourage it, too.

The phrase “just for the crunch” has entered my family's vocabulary as a kind of running in-joke, no matter which language we happen to be speaking.
I gather that roll bugs are more commonly called roly polies, but try to fit that into this meter. On hindsight, pill bugs would have perhaps been the better choice… Oh well.

Print versions of Maura the Mole are still available.

If you happen to live in Germany, the easiest, fastest and cheapest way is to order it at your local bookstore:
● ISBN 978 3 945130-03-2

Everywhere else used to be more difficult for a long time, for various reasons, but I found out how to ship books internationally at a reasonable price and put up a batch for worldwide sale on eBay:

(This has the additional perk that I'll sign your copy if you add a note to your purchase, asking me to.)

There is also a Plattdütsch version called Mieke Mullworp which can be bought through the same channels at the same conditions:
