Some people have lost their faith over a lot less than what Will has been through. (I don't blame them. People change.)
Usually in stories like these the guy loses his faith and has to regain it.
But,
since the spiritual touch is only a slight one in my story, this is a
rare case where the guy is hanging doggedly onto what he believes in.
I think it's pretty manly of him!
