If their thinking is more horizontal, I imagine their buildings wouldn't rise very far, if they even went more than one story, and they would be more likely to use ramps than steps. And being unable to climb ladders, any overhead architecture (such as the arches in the lower right panel) would be beyond their abilities to erect. Unless they found the remains of a previous, bipedal civilization, and repaired/modified them to their own abilities.

She's mostly thinking about individuals she's likely to encounter inside of the city. So far, Darra hasn't had to deal with any real trained warriors or military types yet, so her premise may be dead wrong...
