i am pretty sure the "lock" is to seperate her "mortal self" from the "dragon of life"... without it she is just always in access to her "dragon of life" powers, which including the granting (and revoking) of immortality.

Hmmm, I wonder, if it breaks more times than it's willingly unlocked, I wonder what the end result would be? Somehow, I get the feeling that if every lock on Mika's heart were broken unwillingly, Mika'd turn into something that would make Coach Nariko at her worst look like Mother Teresa at her best.

This is just my best guess, but I'm assuming such a transformation, along with the pink color, means that Mika is (hopefully willingly) letting Tara possess her body. However if Tara's soul IS lost like it seems, then she can spare space with Koko and Rancid...hrm, well, at least one of them's pleasant. As regards Virgina, may I ask why your moving there?
