It's not a yin symbol. It's a special kind of stone. They had them in this fighting manga I can't remember, but it's the same kind of stone the spirit girls in Phoenix Wright use to channel their energies. I don't know what to call them tho.

Well, this might be Bengal before he became the monster he is now. Bear in mind, he also happens to be one of the guys responsible for the creation of the world, so he wasn't always 100% bastard, otherwise he'd likely have been left out of the creation process entirely if that was possible. What we may be seeing is Bengal before he became what he is now, and the events that were his Start Of Darkness.
