Chapter Four - Page Twenty-Nine

Poor Nico. That looks like it hurts.

I said last week that I haven't got Morphic all planned out and that's true - but it's not the whole truth. I started this a year and a half ago, going from plot-bunny to drawing comic pages in the space of a week - as in, I didn't develop the idea very much beforehand, so instead, it's developing itself as I go along.

I've got most of the characters for the future chapters and I've got their motivation and quite a bit of what they're going to get up to, but it all comes together as I go along. I'm not flying completely blind, here, because I dislike doing that. When I'm writing novels, I prefer having at least a rough plot written down, with which actions go where and in what order - beginning, middle and end. Morphic refuses to be plotted this way, for some reason. I sit down and plan stuff out several chapters ahead - not in finished script form, but as brainstorming - but then I sit down to polish the script for the current chapter and I discover something, and my brain goes “Oooh, shiny!” and veers off track.

At least I've always got a very good idea of what's going to happen in the next chapter. ;P
