Chapter One Page 9

Hey all. =P
First, thanks to all who've been supporting Nadya, we appreciate it a lot. I feel like this story's beginning to take form plot-wise.
Art-wise, I feel like I rushed this page because I know I can get another out by the end of this week. Anyway, give us your thoughts on the plot and the art in comment form or on our forums! http://www.drunkduck.com/community/?comic_id=16165
VOTING INCENTIVE HAS CHANGED- TO VIEW A SNEAK PEEK AT THE NEXT PAGE, VOTE!!!
Metaluigi: Yeah… you're totally right. I think I got taken over by some greedy spirit or something. I actually went to bed kinda weakened from working so hard on this. In the future, I'll slow down and take it easy like I did page 6…If I don't, yell at me. =)
Silverwordz- Thanks a lot! I'm not sure if it'd be a spoiler to tell you -his- name yet, but the two henchmen are named Fyline (the woman) and Eisner (the man). The guy in the second panel is going to have to remain a mystery, but you'll be seeing him soon. :-)
CharleyHorse: Thanks much!!! I'm glad you like how Eisner came out, his legs were bugging me… basically, I wanted to draw someone in a full body shot, because I haven't since page one, I believe…?
Dangerfunk: Thank you! You know, I had the beard full at one point and my brother didn't like it so I gave him a shave. I was gonna have the speech bubble be normal, but then I made his breath fog up and thought- this -is- a cold person, after all…:)
SilentKitty: New characters are always a great thing, eh? =P For the sake of mystery, I won't tell you if you're wrong or right, but I will say that Eisner's intentions aren't pure towards anyone. (I think I've said too much. @_@ )
Ian: Ah, I expected you to pick up on some of the clues I tossed out. I know the perspective on the second panel is a bit wonky, but I was rushing… I really wanted you guys to see this, and I guess I should edit that as soon as I can. Hm…thanks for the heads-up.
With your question on the Reborn, you stumbled on one of the biggest themes of this comic. It isn't too hard to figure out who it is. Once you figure out who she is, then you know who Charna is…etc. :-)
Blntmaker: Gosh, don't make me blush. I've never been compared to Alex Ross before, but it's an honor… I figured the first preview page was more his style, but hey- everyone loves a good compliment. Glad to have you as a reader!!!
TantzAerine: Glad you can feel the chill. And you're totally right. I wonder if anyone else will read this, though. I figure this spoiler will serve as incentive to hear future plots. :-)

Scully? ;-) Seriously, she looks like Scully and that is a GOOD thing - go with that ... (Mmmm ... Gillian Taylor/David Ducovny sandwich .... *drool*) Umm ... where was I? Right, ice cave, sinister cackling shirtless guy, cool tattoed guy, umm ... I need to just ... go ... over here ... now ...

I do wonder if she's among the people in the page 24 - or are there more people looking for Nadya? If my theory I elaborated on in my crit is correct, I'd think she'd be a precious prey. The redhaired woman looks great, especially her eyes.

Things are getting interesting!

I like these new character designs

Might I assume that the old lady's name has just been mentioned? Great change of scenery here. I really the sense of humid cold that permeats the entire page :)

This is some kickass artwork and the plot seems pretty interesting.

Now THAT'S a nice style! In the vein of Alex Ross with the paint look! I've noticed your postings too... I'll have to read up to catch up - But you're a FAVE for sure!

Looking mighty good. Can't wait to see what it's all about. Keep going!

Looks good. You have taken on a lot of hard to do visuals and made them work. I like your painted ice and your use of reflections of the ice. The perspective of the tunnel entrance in panel 2 is a bit wonky. If that's water outside with ice floating on it, from the perspective, it looks like should be pouring into the chamber. I love paint/tattoos, so the look of the villain in panel two is fun. And who is the ReBorn? the plot complications thicken!

Yay, new characters! :3 They look interesting, I'm guessing they're villains of some type by their creepy lair and the guy's evil laugh in the last panel, heehee. ;)
dangerfunk at 4:34AM, June 14, 2007
ooh awesome paint job. i like the detail on that dude's beard and the clever use of his cold breath as a speech bubble.
CharleyHorse at 4:29AM, June 14, 2007
Nice work on the ice, and also on Eisner in that the pose looks natural. Finally, it's interesting to switch scenes at this point in the unfolding story.

I like the backgrounds. Very blue. And beautiful. Try not to rush too much on your next pages. It's better to take your time and have a better quality page than a rushed one.
SilverWordz at 10:16PM, June 13, 2007
The blues are blended really nicely. And the new characters are interesting. I'm curious about the man in the second panel. :)
