Chapter One Page 14
D0m on July 13, 2007
Well, I had to leave my favorite page sooner or later. I can't tell you how much I frustrated with this page. Next page is finally some sort of explanation. Sorry for the eyesore font!
Anyway, I left a big clue as to the kind of world we're looking at. Check out the third panel. What does the malfunction mean? Why is there a drastic change of scenery in where Charna's standing and where they began? Thoughts?
Thanks for all the comments of page 13, you guys couldn't be more supportive. And I plan on sticking with that style as much as possible from now on!
This week's voting incentives are WIPs of one painting I finished and one that's still in progress!
Vote for Nadya at TWC and see the rest of this painting of the most gorgeous girl in the world, Ariel:
and for Buzzcomics, for you Harry Potter fans… Dumbledore:

Great page. I think the queen is scared and unsure of herself, so she is hiding behind arrogance to help keep herself from totally breaking down. I'm sure she's really quite a lovely person once you get to know her and such ... ;-)

That's unique! A bridge changes scenery everytime you walk... VERY UNIQUE!
MrSynnerster at 5:10AM, July 24, 2007
you would think by now, she needs to just walk and stop asking questions. lol.
freefall_drift at 5:01PM, July 23, 2007
Interesting. Looks a little "VR" like . like the program isn't working correctly.
TheMidge28 at 7:54AM, July 21, 2007
That's what I am wondering...who is that shadow spider thingy?
Azaeziel at 9:44AM, July 20, 2007
I love your art, and just finished reading your whole archive. It looks so soft focus at times, yet feels very organic. Love it, and Fev'd it!

Hyptosis- Thanks for visiting, and I plan to! PatrickDevine- Yeah, that's definitely an airship. :-) Emily the strange- That's a great compliment, really. It's great to know that I'm having that effect! Skyangel- You guys make me feel like a professional. Thanks for the encouragement. The coloring is done 100% on the computer with Photoshop, yes. Adobedragon- Thanks! Justnopoint- Flattering! Trust me, it's all just brush strokes and experimentation. As for Charna, she won't be a granny for long. :-) Talekyn- Be sure to show up on the next page, we'll be getting one answer, at least!
JustNoPoint at 6:41AM, July 19, 2007
Still top notch work. Man how I wish I could make backgrounds even half as good as you do. Can't wait to see who this spider granny is.
adobedragon at 11:25AM, July 18, 2007
Love the colors, love the style.
Talekyn at 7:29AM, July 18, 2007
I just caught up on this, and I'm very intrigued. Nice sense of mystery, and plenty of them to try to figure out. Looking forward to seeing how this progresses!
SilverWordz at 7:05AM, July 18, 2007
Meh, I can't believe I forgot to come back and comment on this page. I have to agree completely with what silentkitty said, in 14 pages you've improved greatly, and it's been really fun to watch the progress. I really like that little airship thingy. It in itself is super cool, but the misty type setting it's in has such a nice feel to it. Contrasting really well with the dark cityscape it flickers back to.
skyangel at 4:24PM, July 17, 2007
Your style of art is really beautiful and the story is very mysterious and captivating. Is all this coluring done on the computer ? the moonlit sky looks so good against the other darker panels
EmilyTheStrange at 4:44AM, July 17, 2007
God I love your art, it just pulls you in and makes you want more! x3
patrickdevine at 8:17PM, July 16, 2007
I like how the scenery seems to be glitching out. Is that an airship in the second panel?
Hyptosis at 2:46PM, July 16, 2007
Looks like you're doing very well, keep at it. =]

Lughaidh- Glad to see you came back! I hate one-night-comic-stands. =P Luigi- It's okay, though I was looking for your comment, hehe... welcome back! You're actually the closest that anyone's gotten to figuring it out! You could call the world that. MrGranger- Wow, cool to see you commenting on this! Welcome, and thanks! Pox- Yeah, I wanted to do something different- I always loved the ragged painterly look, and it seems to be working, so I'm not stopping anytime soon. :-P VegaX- Thanks a lot. You guys're so inspirational to me. Tantz- Heya. One of the Queen's biggest lessons she'll learn is that not everyone's her servant (not even her bodyguard and tour guide)! I want to make sure that by the end of this story (or at least by the 100th page) everyone can see the changes in her personality. Good try! I would say to skip the thoughts about illusions, though. There aren't any on this bridge. The matrix thing works a bit better, but not quite. Joeychips- Thanks! Maddog- It's great to hear that my coloring puts that kind of emotion into the scenery and characters- your feedback helps me know what to shoot for. _T_- Welcome, and thanks! The Queen and Boss Lady have a lot in common, huh?
_T_ at 4:25PM, July 15, 2007
Great art! The story is interesting soo far. I'll be reading :)
maddog at 3:23PM, July 15, 2007
I can see why this story of yours is so popular the painting is great and gives the whole thing a really creepy but magical look about it
joeychips at 1:15PM, July 15, 2007
Great art. You are super-talented.
Tantz_Aerine at 12:46PM, July 15, 2007
Frustrated or not, this is a great page. You should be proud of it. I love how the queen finally gets irony in response for her demands ;) Hmmm. This is an intriguing hint :) Obviously this is some sort of elaborate illusion, but if we are already in the world of the dead it makes me wonder why the dead would need illusions. Maybe this is not exactly 'beyond the river sphinx' and the queen has been trapped in a world which is a little bit like the Matrix. Maybe. But I am completely brain-fried right now, so I am probably as far off the mark as the earth from the sun ;) Still it is very intriguing.
VegaX at 12:45PM, July 15, 2007
Absolutely gorgeous artwork and coloring.
pox at 10:37AM, July 15, 2007
Oh my! I love this comic thus far! I love how it looks painted instead of the normal bright colours in regular comics!
MrGranger at 9:27AM, July 15, 2007
Lovely all around.
MetalLuigi at 4:13PM, July 14, 2007
Sorry I didn't comment on this sooner, lol. I swore I read it last night as soon as you updated. Anyway, as always great work! Inking and coloring is beautiful as usual. Is this set in a pseudo-futuristic world? As commented before that looks like an airship in the third panel and with the bridge going "bzzt" and "kzzt" it looks like it might be electrical. This is just a theory of mine. Don't blame me if it's completely wrong, lol.
