This was based on a true story that doesn't make as much sense anymore. Back when Fox decided to try uncancelling Family Guy, they aired it too early and had to censor a bunch of stuff that made the show make no sense. They've wised up a bit since, though It took Comedy Central to see Futurama uncancelled.
