This was an actual dream I had after reading Tula's autobiography where she described going through her reassignment surgery. I've never forgotten this dream either which must indicate how important it felt to me at the time and waking up to find it wasn't true put me into a very odd state of mind as this wasn't something anyone talked about back then. I didn't know anybody else like her either so it really felt like I'd make media headlines if I ever tried to follow in her footsteps so I think this was probably where I started to implode and look for ways to deal with the dysphoria in a less obvious way.
Oh such a lovely dream! I wish I could understand more about how terrible it must have been to awake and find everything as it was when you laid down. I've no experience with such dysmorphia, and can only imagine how it was to have a vivid dream and find it to be untrue when you woke up.
Lastly, I loved how you envisioned yourself as a woman, not overblown and overly rounded or anything of the sort, just a normal girl.
As always, thank you for sharing.
I suppose the only way to relate is to think of a time when you had a really great dream and then woke up to find it wasn't real. Normally I have dreams where I am in such a bad situation that I'm really glad to wake up and find out it was just a dream, so this was more unusual.

Dreams alone do not make such serious things come true, but they do increase the pressure to solve the matter.

This was the one and only time I had this dream so if I had had it often I think I would have felt convinced that surgery was the only answer.

In this case your dream was actually a window, but it doesn't make coming back to reality any easier. Love that last panel.

I loathe drawing faces from that angle as they normally look weirdly flat but I was a bit luckier this time!
