So My Chemical Romance did a cover recently of Bob Dylan's classic “Desolation Row” for the Watchmen movie. Here is the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q9VaVukLtfg
It combines two of my favorite things, Watchmen and Bob Dylan covers, with two of my least favorite things, bad Bob Dylan covers and emos pretending to be punk. You can guess how I feel about the the band as a whole.
In other news, I hear Pride, Prejudice, and Zombies (http://www.amazon.com/Pride-Prejudice-Zombies-Classic-Ultraviolent/dp/1594743347) is supposed to be pretty good. I'd like to read the original before I jump into this parody though. Any Jane Austin fans out there? Is this advisable, or should I just jump right into the parody and satisfy my lust for acts of atrocious gore committed by the undead? Feed back, please!
well... i guess my chemical romance can't be faulted for their taste... well at least as far as rock icons who everyone knows, and in the very least respects are concerned. especially when covering them might make your band look more cultured to the more vacuous of your fans, which in the case of emo is quite a lot.
.....those fuckin' pricks.
I'm a Dylan freak and that's probably in my top 5. I refuse refuse refuse to listen to anyone other than Dylan doin' that song. Especially not... those guys.
Yeah, did I mention I'm a Dylan freak? My tattoo's partially a reference to "Idiot Wind". ;)
