We Need To Talk

So my buddy and I were laughing recently at how oddly homo erotic the original He-Man cartoons could be and I thought it would be a funny premise for a comic. I really pushed the artwork on this one and I'm pretty proud of it. Hopefully I'll be able to contain my excitement a little better than He-Man, however.

I'd like to know where there were any homo-erotic tones in the original cartoon? I believe that it's a bunch of basement dwelling geeks that are sitting around trying to find "hidden" meanings in anything. You people remind me of the preachers that said Transformers preached evolution and that the Smurfs were evil. As I've said...give an episode or any example where the writers/animators were adding homo-erotic symbolism. I can guarantee you will not find any.

Yeah and we all know how shitty that toon was!
Juvenile_Jay at 2:17AM, Jan. 15, 2009
OMG my eyes!!!! shit this is hilarious. My bro has a point, He-Man in spandex? They called that 'The new adventures of He-Man' hahahaha
AWCramer at 1:36AM, Jan. 15, 2009
Ok now I am a huge He-Man fan... and yes the old crusty toon was a bit ... questionable at times... but damn this funny! Plus what did you expect barbarians to run around in?? Spandex?? Try getting Conan in a pair of tights... lol

Thanks everyone! Nice to see people going back and reading older strips. I spent a really long time on the art on this one and I'm glad you guys noticed. Its not really practical to do something like this very often, but sometimes its nice to go all out with a full page strip.

Ummm. OMG. But wasn't his costume made of fur? (LOL, that could be even scarier!)

I've never liked He-man when I was a kid I didn't see the attraction to watching a big muscular guy wearing next to nothing but now I realize now that it was just really gay. Now what I really liked when I was a kid was (and I'm no longer ashamed to say this) Sailor Moon. Now when I was a kid I didn't really know why I liked it I just did. And of course I know now why I liked it. ;)

Yeah, that pretty much sums up He-Man. Nice art too! Man-at-Arms (i had to look that up) totally has the choice lines. That "quick death" remark is a keeper too.

The timing for this strip is impeccable since it has been recently announced that a new He-Man movie has gone into production called GreySkull - The Masters of the Universe. And yes, those cartoons were very homo-erotic. Heck, even you could tell that the redhead was batting for her own side.
