To piggyback on Julio's comments, THIS IS YOUR LAST CHANCE to guess who the villain really is.
Page 17 makes clear that the Tonkawa are not responsible for the zombies. Who is?
You'll find out on page 18.
Thanks for all of your comments! This is the last page colored by Berny Julianto. Next page marks the debut of Meha Nathan as the OC Colorist.
As per the script, brace to your seats! 'Cuz the rocking issue-2 finale cooked up by Keith is right round the corner!!
Show, don't tell, eh? I took that so much to heart that - by the time I'd finished the script for my comic - it was about 50% flashbacks! (I think it works, though!)
Works here, too. Great stuff!
The original script for this page just had the Tonkawa chief telling Mack about Riverhill's demise. Editor Egg Embry objected because he felt I needed to SHOW Riverhill's destruction, not merely TELL it. ("Show vs. Tell"; what fiction writer doesn't have that mantra drilled into his/her head?) Ideally, I would have inserted a splash page presenting a high angle shot of Riverhill burning to the ground. Unfortunately, this issue just doesn't have the space for that. It's already at 25 pages. So Julio (I'm pretty sure it was Julio) came up with the solution of having the background of the first panel of this page show Riverhill's demise while the foreground still presents the Tonkawa chief's explanation. The panel layout for this page was all Julio. What do you think?
