I did that once with one of my character. I had no real choice, I wanted to make that overlord mad but the bard kept doing some diplomacy check to calm him down after I talked. So since my DM houseruled that only one character can do a diplomacy/intimidation or bluff check each turn (otherwise all 6 of us could just all roll the dice at the same time and one of us was bound to have a good roll), I rolled a one on purpose. The face on the guy playing the bard was priceless.
